In this project, I aimed to develop and learn how to manage and interpret IERS-derived data, focusing on the technological process of decompiling CSV output from Apache Maven on system servers.
This method, a one-off product prototype, was specifically designed to simplify the consumption of geodesic or earth-related data streams for consumers. Consistency and reliability arose as areas of concern due to the standard model of physics. Particularly, the need for observation and the delineation of the observer effect, which remained unaddressed in communications due to its complexity and our aim to engage a non-specialist audience.
The interpretative outcomes of this data were inherently tentative and speculative, reflecting the limitations of current scientific understanding. These insights were translated into a monthly newsletter—a pilot prototype media newsletter project—designed to disseminate complex findings in an accessible format, making nuanced and provisional data understandable to a broader audience. This approach provided clear and speculative communication but also highlighted the ongoing need for research and discussion within the field.
